It’s a scientifically proven fact that mankind uses
only about 6% of our brains. Albert Einstein
supposedly used 10% of his. That leaves an awful lot
of untapped brain power.

Consider what we’ve accomplished with the little bit
of brain power we’ve been using since the dawn of man.
Is it so hard then to consider the possibilities of
what we could achieve?

The Law of Attraction, positive thinking or whatever
you want to call it, works on the premise that we’re
capable of determining what we have and how we live
with the power of our psychic energy.

The idea is that we’re able to direct our mental
abilities, our thoughts toward our goals and desires
and obtain them.

Granted this ability isn’t something that’s easily
obtained. Most people have spent their lives under the
impression that the world affects them. Not the other
way around.

It’s a generally held belief that if fate is
determined by us, it’s through our actions and not our
thoughts. But aren’t our thoughts the basis of our
actions?

If our thoughts cause us to act, and that action
results in obtaining our goal, can we not say our
thoughts were responsible for the results? The results
of our actions are determined by our thoughts. Whether
they’re conscious or not, our thoughts do determine
what and who we are.

The Law of Attraction helps us focus our thoughts in
positive ways to everyone’s benefit.

How to Fight Boredom and Become More Motivated at Work

Having trouble finding the motivation you need to get things done at work? When you begin an exciting project, it's easy to find the motivation you need. Maintaining that level of motivation every day, however, can be a challenge. Sometimes, your work is just downright boring!

Just remember that you're not alone in your feelings. Instead of beating yourself up or giving up, take a few small steps that will boost your motivation and lead you to the success you deserve.

Take Care of Yourself

Are there any basic needs in your personal life that need to be addressed? Sometimes, your lack of motivation at work can result from a lack of sleep, proper nutrition, or conflict that drains your energy. Choose to take care of yourself, and your motivation will naturally increase in every area of your life.

For instance, if you've become accustomed to staying up late and getting little sleep, you'll drag and lack energy at work. Everyone's sleep needs are different, but the average person requires 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Make sure you get an adequate amount of rest.

Also make sure that you maintain a healthy diet. The food and drinks you put in your body have a huge impact on the way you feel. If you eat poorly at work, you'll feel lethargic. Also, a diet that's too strict can make you feel tired, hungry, and irritable.

Pay attention to your mental health. Sometimes you can't find motivation at work because your thoughts are preoccupied with something else. Get to the root of your challenges and seek the advice of friends or loved ones. Choose to nurse your body and your mind so that you're ready for the challenges of each workday.

Stay Active and Motivated

Once your basic personal needs are met, you can turn your attention to fighting the boredom. Ask yourself what you like about your job. Write down as many positive things about your job as you can think of.

Then write down the things you dislike about your job. Ask yourself, "What am I willing to do to make it the way I want it?" Focus on solutions instead of problems, and your motivation for success will quickly increase.

If you're bored because your day has become monotonous, seek opportunities to make changes to your daily routine at work. Come up with a new way of doing things. Ask about training programs or other duties you can take on to increase your value to the company and your level of interest in your job.

Another powerful approach to stamp out boredom is to seek a mentor. Learn to be the best from someone who performs your job at a high level. Anything is more fun when you're good at it. A mentor can answer specific questions about your job and help you to find the excitement in every day as well.

Know When It's Time to Make A Change

Sometimes, boredom is a signal that something's wrong. You may be in the wrong position to utilize your talents most effectively. Perhaps your employer may be able to direct you to other opportunities within the company that are better suited to your talents, abilities, and interests.

Often, taking part in other hobbies and interests that you're passionate about on the weekends can cure the boredom you experience on the weekdays. Having something you look forward to can be a powerful antidote to the daily "blahs." Pursue what makes you happy in your free time and you may find that motivation appears out of nowhere.

Most of all, realize that you deserve success. Set yourself apart from those who settle for the tedious, daily grind. Today, decide to take care of yourself, pursue your passion and make the most of every day at your job. You'll be glad you did!

حافظ فريق برشلونة على لقب الدوري الأسباني لكرة القدم للعام الثاني على التوالي بعد صراع شرس مع ريال مدريد ، والذي استمر حتى المرحلة الثامنة والثلاثين الأخيرة من المسابقة امس الأحد.

وتغلب برشلونة على ضيفه بلد الوليد برباعية نظيفة فيما اكتفى ريال مدريد بالتعادل مع مضيفه ملقه 1/1 .

ورفع برشلونة رصيده إلى 99 نقطة وهو رقم قياسي من النقاط في تاريخ الدوري الأسباني بفارق ثلاث نقاط أمام ريال مدريد صاحب المركز الثاني.

وقدم لاعبو برشلونة وصلة من الرقص داخل الملعب برفقة أبنائهم ، في الوقت الذي أكد فيه المدرب جوسيب جوارديولا "إنهم يستحقون الاحتفال بهذه الطريقة ، لأن أداءهم طوال الموسم كان مثاليا..أشعر بسعادة غامرة للعمل معهم".

وأوضح قائد برشلونة كارلس بويول "لقد كان موسما أخر في منتهى الروعة بالنسبة لنا ، ريال مدريد صعب علينا الأمور ولكننا نجحنا في الحفاظ على تفوقنا عليه".

وأشاد بويول ب 98 ألف مشجع حضروا إلى الملعب للاحتفال بالفريق البطل.

وأضاف "الجماهير تستحق ذلك لأنها ساعدتنا حقا هذا الموسم ، لقد تعرضنا للهجوم من الجميع ، ولكنهم كانوا مخلصين وأوفياء".

وهبطت ثلاثة أندية لدوري الدرجة الثانية وهي خيريس ، الذي تعادل مع مضيفه اوساسونا 1/1 وبلد الوليد بالإضافة إلى تينيريفي الذي خسر أمام بلنسية صفر/1 .

وأكد خافيير كليمنتي مدرب بلد الوليد ، الذي تولى تدريب المنتخب الأسباني بين عامي 1992 و1998 "إنه عار حقيقي علينا ، ولكننا قدمنا كل ما بوسعنا ، برشلونة فريق استثنائي ، ولعب بسرعة مذهلة".

وجاء التعادل مع ريال مدريد ليبقي بشق الأنفس على ملقه الذي رفع رصيده إلى 37 نقطة بفارق نقطة واحدة فقط أمام تينيريفي وبلد الوليد.

ونجح راسينج سانتاندير أيضا في تفادي شبح الهبوط بعد أن احتل المركز الخامس من القاع عبر الفوز على سبورتنيج خيخون 2/صفر.

وحقق برشلونة اللقب العشرين في تاريخه ، أقل ب11 لقبا عن ريال مدريد صاحب الرقم القياسي في عدد مرات الفوز باللقب المحلي ، كما أنه اللقب الرابع للنادي الكتالوني في أخر ستة أعوام.

ودخل برشلونة مباراة الأمس متقدما بفارق نقطة واحدة أمام ريال مدريد ، مدركا أن الفوز سيكون كافيا لانتزاع اللقب ، في الوقت الذي كان لا بديل أمام بلد الوليد سوى تحقيق الفوز لتجنب الهبوط.

وبدأ بلد الوليد المباراة بشكل سريع وكاد المهاجم الأنجولي مانوتشو أن يتقدم بهدف مبكر للفريق ولكن برشلونة سيطر على مجريات اللعب تماما وتقدم بهدف في الدقيقة 28 عندما مرر بيدرو كرة عرضية أخطأها لويس بريتو لاعب بلد الوليد إلى داخل شباك فريقه.

وأضاف بيدرو ، ابرز اكتشافات الموسم الحالي ، الهدف الثاني لبرشلونة في الدقيقة 32 مستغلا تمريرة الأرجنتيني ليونيل ميسي.

وظهر ميسي بشكل مبهر في الشوط الثاني ليثبت دون أدنى شك أنه أفضل لاعب في العالم حاليا.

وأضاف ميسي الهدف الثالث لفريقه في الدقيقة 62 بعد مجهود فردي رائع من الإيفواري يايا توريه ليرفع رصيده من الأهداف في الدوري المحلي إلى 34 هدفا مقابل 47 هدفا على مستوى كافة البطولات.

وفي الدقيقة 76 اختتم ميسي أهداف فريقه بعدما خدع المدافع بيدرو لوبيز.

وكانت هذه هي النهاية الأمثل لخوان لابورتا بعد سبعة أعوام قضاها في رئاسة النادي ، حيث أحرز الفريق لقب الدوري الأسباني أربع مرات ولقب دوري أبطال أوروبا مرتين خلال فترة رئاسته.

وقال لابورتا مفتخرا خلال الاحتفالات الصاخبة التي أعقبت المباراة "لقد منحت برشلونة أفضل عهد في تاريخ النادي".

وأضاف "لقد تركت الرئاسة بسعادة مطلقة .. تركت خلفي نادي قوي بهوية كتالونية ومنفتح على العالم".

واكتفى ريال مدريد بالتعادل مع ملقه 1/1 في مباراة يبدو أنها الأخيرة للمدرب مانويل بيليجيريني.

وتقدم المدافع البرتغالي دودا بهدف لملقه في الدقيقة العاشرة مستغلا ارتباك مدافعي ريال مدريد.

وكاد ملقه أن يضاعف رصيده من الأهداف ولكن الحكم تغاضى عن احتساب ضربة جزاء واضحة للفريق قبل أن يدرك الهولندي رافاييل فان دير فارت التعادل للنادي الملكي إثر تسديدة قوية بقدمه اليسرى.

ولم يستسلم ريال مدريد مطلقا برغم توالي الأهداف في مباراة برشلونة ، ولكن ملقه نجح في فرض التعادل حتى النهاية لينتزع نقطة ثمينة أبقت عليه في دوري الأضواء والشهرة ، برغم طرد لاعبه دودا في الوقت بدل الضائع.

وأنهى ريال مدريد الموسم محققا رقما قياسيا من النقاط في رصيد النادي برصيد 96 نقطة ولكن هذا الإنجاز لن يكون كافيا لإنقاذ بيليجريني.

وأشار بيليجريني "كنا ندرك أنه سيكون يوما صعبا ، لقد قدمنا موسما جيدا ، ولكن الموسم لا يكون جيدا دون إحراز ألقاب".

ولدى سؤاله حول مستقبله مع النادي أجاب المدرب الشيلي "لدي عقد وأود أن أكمل المشوار ، ولكن هذا القرار لا يعود لي".

ويبدو أن المرشح الأبرز لخلافة بيليجريني في الموسم المقبل هو البرتغالي جوزيه مورينيو المدير الفني لإنتر ميلان الذي قاد الفريق لإحراز لقب الدوري الإيطالي للعام الخامس على التوالي في وقت سابق امس .

ولم يسبق أن اتسع الفارق بين صاحبا المركزين الثاني والثالث إلى مثل هذا الحد ، حيث احتل بلنسية المركز الثالث برصيد 71 نقطة بفارق 25 نقطة خلف ريال مدريد بعد فوزه على تينيريفي بهدف نظيف سجله اليكسيس.

وأنهى أشبيلية الموسم في المركز الرابع بعد فوزه على مضيفه الميريا 3/2 أول أمس السبت.

واحتل أشبيلية المركز الرابع برصيد 62 نقطة بفارق نقطة واحدة أمام ريال مايوركا صاحب المركز الخامس الذي تغلب على اسبانيول 2/صفر أول أمس.

واحتفظ خيتافي بالمركز السادس وضمن المشاركة في الدوري الأوروبي الموسم المقبل بعد فوزه على أتليتكو مدريد 3/صفر أمس السبت فيما اكتفى فياريال الذي احتل المركز السابع بالتعادل مع ريال سرقسطة 3/3 .

Crime in Airports Study

A study was made recently to determine the average crime rate at international airports around the world. The study made use of an ordinary-looking man standing in the airport terminal and reading a newspaper. He had an empty briefcase next to him which he would ignore. Observers then recorded how long it took for the briefcase to be snatched.

At Brussels, the case was stolen within 4 minutes and 20 seconds. At Washington DC, it was stolen within 3 minutes and 16 seconds. At Heathrow, the briefcase was snatched in less than 2 minutes. In New York, the case was stolen within 1 minute and 5 seconds and in Los Angeles, it took only 43 seconds before the case was snatched.

The experiment was going to be carried out at Johannesburg International Airport in South Africa, but the people conducting the study were hijacked on the way there.

Aboriginal leaders: Russian ice dancers' routine still offensive

This year, the theme for the ice dancing original dance was folk dancing. The dance was supposed to represent the "flavor" of one country or another.

Some skating pairs, like Israelis Roman and Alexandra Zaretsky and Georgians Allison Reed and Otar Japaridze, chose folk dances that represented their own country. Others chose to honor other cultures. Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir did a flamenco, Americans Meryl Davis and Charlie White did an Indian dance, and Russians Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin did an Australian Aboriginal dance.

When the Russian pair did the Aboriginal dance at the European Championships in January, they drew criticism from Aboriginal leaders who found the dance and costumes offensive. Domnina and Shabalin toned down their costumes and removed their face paint, but made no changes to their Aboriginal dance.

The dance they did was more likely their interpretation of Aboriginal dance, though they claimed to have done research. Watching the dance Sunday night, one can understand why Aboriginal leaders were offended.

At times, Shabalin led Domnina around by her ponytail. They mugged, stuck out their tongues and mimicked the hand over mouth gesture that was once associated with American Indians. (See it here and judge for yourself.) After the dance ended, the crowd gave the Russians what could generously be called a lukewarm reception.

After seeing the dance Sunday night, an Aboriginal dancer wrote in Australia's Herald Sun newspaper:

The dance is certainly unlike anything I've seen, and other than a few complex lifts, the performance didn't really entertain me. It looked wrong on so many levels. ... When creating a dance or theatre work, even as contemporary indigenous dancers, it is a part of our practice to follow cultural protocols and consult with traditional elders who understand the meaning behind the movement. It is respect for our traditional cultural laws, language groups and elders for this information to be passed on correctly.

An Aboriginal leader agreed, telling The Australian newspaper:

"I am offended by the performance and so are our other councillors," Bev Manton, the chairwoman of the [New South Wales] Land Council said.

"Aboriginal people for very good reason are sensitive about their cultural objects and icons being co-opted by non-Aboriginal people – whether they are from Australia or Russia.

"It's important for people to tread carefully and respectfully when they are depicting somebody else's culture, and I don't think this performance does."

Watching this dance was like watching an old movie – like seeing Mickey Rooney's offensive portrayal of Mr. Yunioshi in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" – or seeing a period show like "Mad Men," where one of the main characters dressed in blackface. The dance was anachronistic. Considering that the pair slipped from first to third, it was not a winning routine, either.
